Seminole Rezoning Dashboard: All Pain, No Gain

A Federal Consent Decree on race was claimed as the reason for rezoning that became effective in August, 2005. The School Board used this to force the most damaging rezoning in history.

In July 2006 the 2005-06 NCLB SPAR reports were released. These new Florida state data showed Seminole's rezoning did not change the percent of Black students at any high school.

How to use the Rezoning Dashboard

  1. Use the left column. Click the County's total at the top. Scroll down and click your high school's name. See the lack of change from this painful rezoning.
  2. If this racial rezoning's a smokescreen, help figure out what the School Board is really doing. Dancing the "FCAT Shuffle" perhaps?
